McCarthy Tire ensures a proper balance every time by employing the latest balancing technologies and products. In addition, our expert staff is trained to use these methods to deliver timely and accurate service. Here are some examples of the technologies we use to get the job done right for you.
Equal Tire Balancing for Commercial Tires
Equal is a dry polymer that can be injected into the tire directly through the valve stem. Once inside the tire, Equal compound is free to distribute itself around the inside of the tire, responding to force variations which are the result of non-uniformities in the wheel's balance.
In response to the variation in acceleration forces, Equal responds to balance the tire/wheel and maintain a vibration-free rotation. Because Equal is constantly free to redistribute itself, any changes to the tire and wheel are immediately counteracted resulting in a tire and wheel combination that always remains in balance.
Hunter & Coats Computer Wheel Balancing
McCarthy Tire only uses the finest computer wheel balancers from Hunter and Coats to ensure a smooth ride and excellent performance.
Out-of-balance tires will cause a vehicle to vibrate at certain speeds, usually between 50 and 70 miles per hour. A tire is out of balance when one section of the tire is heavier than the others. One ounce of imbalance on a front tire is enough to cause a noticeable vibration in the steering wheel at about 60 miles per hour.
McCarthy’s technicians are experts at balancing tires - see McCarthy Tire today to get your balance done right! Here is what we do: To balance a wheel, the technician will mount it on a balancing machine which spins the wheel to locate the heavier part. He will then compensate for the heavy part by attaching a lead weight on the opposite side. Our customers are often pleasantly surprised at how smooth their car drives after balancing all four wheels.
